Active Start

The focus of the Active Start (U5) workshop is on teaching basic skills and basic physical literacy.

The Active Start workshop is delivered by two components: (1) Online Theory and (2) On-Field Practical. Once the online theory component of the workshop has been completed, coaches can then sign up for the in-person, on-field practical component. When a coach has completed their online theory component, on-field practical component, and the Make Ethical Decisions training, they will receive the status of Trained Coach (or will be considered In Training if they have not completed all of the components).

Pre-Requisites: None

Online Classroom Duration: Approximately 2-3 hours

On-Field Practical Duration: 1 hour

Fee: $45 (this fee relates only to the courses that SSA delivers; all courses organized by local Member Organizations may be priced differently)

Coaches need to be 16 years of age to register for any course.

Active Start workshops require a minimum number of 8 participants.
