Indigenous and Northern Member Strategy


The Indigenous & Northern Member Strategy defines the programs, services, and initiatives that specifically serve Indigenous participants and Member Organizations who serve Indigenous participants.

Indigenous Competitions

Saskatchewan Soccer is proud to support Indigenous competitions by providing officiating and technical competition support for the FSIN Soccer Provincial Championships and Tony Cote Summer Games (formerly known as the Saskatchewan First Nation Winter/Summer Games).

ICOP support

Saskatchewan Soccer works with Member Organizations who serve Indigenous participants to facilitate training and developmental opportunities for Indigenous peoples to become involved in sport as a coach or an official through the Indigenous Coaches and Officials Program (ICOP), delivered through the Coaches Association of Saskatchewan. 

North American Indigenous Games

Saskatchewan Soccer provides support in the planning and preparation to Team Saskatchewan soccer teams in their participation in NAIG.

Working Relationship with the Northern Sport, Culture & Recreation District

Saskatchewan Soccer is proud to work with the Northern Sport, Culture & Recreation District to introduce and expand soccer and futsal to communities in Northern Saskatchewan.

MAP Grant

The MAP Grant provides all Member Organizations with significant funding opportunities to grow the game with Indigenous participants and Indigenous communities.
