Manager, Coach & Player Development Markus Reinkens set to depart SSA on Dec 31

Saskatchewan Soccer has announced that its Manager, Coach & Player Development Markus Reinkens will depart the organization on December 31. Reinkens, who joined Saskatchewan Soccer from FC Regina in 2018, now returns to the organization as their Director of Coaching and Sport Development. Reinkens was previously the head of Player Development and Soccer Science at BC Soccer before moving to Saskatchewan.

 

Saskatchewan Soccer is seeking qualified candidates for its Manager, Coach & Player Development role responsible for the progress of the grassroots, community, and competitive streams of participation for players and coaches. Manager, Coach and Player Development

Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) is seeking a dynamic, self-starter to lead coach and player development initiatives and support the development of a network of coach developers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the progress of the grassroots, community, and competitive streams of participation for players and coaches. 

Reporting to the CEO and Sporting Director, the Manager, Coach and Player Development serves as Saskatchewan Soccer’s primary point of contact to Canada Soccer’s Development Department for coach education and as the organizations lead on coach developer education in the province. 

Highlight of Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key stakeholder relations manager to inter-provincial competitions, including the Saskatchewan Summer and Winter Games, the Canada Games, and the North American Indigenous Games, and as well as the lead liaison with the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association and the Saskatchewan Physical Education Association. 
  • Planning, logistics, administration, and delivery of Coach Education.
  • Coordinate Grassroots Coach Education Program with Member Organizations.
  • Ensure quality of Coach Developer delivery and development.
  • Act as primary contact for all Canada Soccer Coach Education matters.
  • Stakeholder relationship with Saskatchewan Schools and leads SSA’s Soccer in Schools program.
  • Collaborate with Coordinator, Club Licensing to support Club Licensing, Skill Centres, and Dedicated Player Programs.
  • Lead the development of futsal through various streams of participation. 
  • Other duties as required.

Experience and Education:

We encourage candidates who have a passion for coaching and player development to apply for the position. We are looking for candidates who possess a combination of professional experience and education either in sports management, sport leadership, coach education and training or player and athlete development.

  • In process or currently possess Canada Soccer Advanced Coach Education Diploma(s) or equivalent.
  • Passion for coach education, being an existing coach developer would be preferred.
  • Experience mentoring others, players, coaches and/or coach developers.
  • Experience managing relationships with Stakeholders and Governing Bodies.
  • Working collaboratively in a team environment.
