SSA Community Stream Weekend - July 8-10, 2022 in Saskatoon
Mark your calendars for a weekend of fun when communities from across Saskatchewan come together to compete in and celebrate the great game!
Schedule of events will include:
- SaskTel 11-aside Outdoor Youth Provincial Championships, including a Soccer Locker Skills Competition
- S4L 4 Corners Championships
- 7-aside Men, Women & Co-Ed World Cup
- Walking Soccer Festival
- U13 PSL Festival
Soccer Days in Saskatchewan - July 22-24, 2022 in Regina
It back! The SSA is gearing up for another jam-packed weekend of competition and fun events open to the public.
Schedule of events will include:
- PSL Championships
- SK Open Cup
- Masters Provincial Championships
- Walking Soccer Provincial Championships
- Special Olympics Provincial Championships
- Skills competition
- Adaptive try-it camp
- 3v3 World Cup tournament
- Soccer Tennis tournament
Seeking volunteers: SSA is seeking volunteer support to host both of these events. Meals and an honorarium will be provided. If you are interested to help or to learn more, please contact jamie at j.mcculloch@sasksoccer.com
SSA Showcase
SSA will be hosting a showcase this weekend in Saskatoon which will be featuring Canada Summer Games team representing Manitoba, Yukon, and NWT at the 2022 Canada Summer Games. The showcase will also feature teams from Saskatchewan and one from Alberta. See the schedule below:

Welcome Luseland Minor Soccer
Luseland Minor Soccer was recently approved as a Regular Member of Saskatchewan Soccer Association. Luseland joins SSA with the goal to provide kids with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of soccer while increasing their physical activity in a fun and safe learning environment. Let’s give Luseland Minor Soccer a warm welcome to the SSA community!
SSA Board of Directors Update
The 2022 Annual General Meeting resulted in one available position open on the SSA Board.? The Board of Directors met recently and confirmed the appointment of Jakub Rogowski to fill this position until the next Annual General Meeting.
Jakub is from Saskatoon where he has been a member of the soccer community for over 20 years, starting with grassroots through to playing at the university level for 5 years with the Huskies.?? Jakub is currently an Assistant Manager at Deloitte LP in Saskatoon; his accounting, finance and general business expertise will be an asset on the Board.
2022 Saskatchewan Soccer Association SaskTel Outdoor Youth Provincial Championships Entry Information
Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) is pleased to confirm the following information and deadlines for the 2022 SaskTel S4L Outdoor Youth Provincial Championships and the 2022 SaskTel S4L Four Corners Rural Championships:
Competition: S4L 11-aside Outdoor Youth Provincial Championship
Dates: July 8-10, 2022
Location: Saskatoon, SK
Entry Deadline: May 25, 2022
Roster Deadline: June 15, 2022

Dates: July 8-10, 2022

To enter, you will need to contact your Member Organization to express interest. Team entries, along with the associated entry fee will be submitted by your local Member Organization to SSA in advance of the Entry Deadline. Late entries will not be accepted.
Rosters will be submitted using the Ramp online platform, with additional information on this process to be forwarded to all teams following the entry deadline.
Rulebooks for both competitions will be posted here shortly. Participants are expected to review the Rulebook in anticipation of registering for the competition.
We look forward to welcoming teams from across the province for a celebration of soccer!

Community Referee Education Sessions
SSA has offered Laws of the Game Refresher online education sessions to all Saskatchewan Soccer referees. Sessions focused challenges, offside, handball, tactical fouls, and featured interesting exchanges of opionions and learning for participants involved. The sessions have been led by 4 of SK top referee instructors - Leonard Chelack, Gord Quinlan, Greg Fischer, and Daniel Boudreau. SSA would like to thank all instructors and referees that participated to support a lifelong professional development. We wish everyone a great outdoor season!
Saskatchewan Assessor at Futsal National Championships
Saskatchewan Soccer assessor Leonard Chelack was appointed to the Canada Soccer Futsal National Championships which took place in Gatineaux, Ottawa on April 14-17. Len has received 5 appointments at the competition. His great work resulted in his being appointed to assess the Gold Medal Game between Sporting Montreal and Toronto Idolo. We are very proud of Len’s participation in the competition, its great achievements and the continuous support for SK Soccer (Len is pictured second from the right, bottom row)
Canada Soccer National Referee Instructor Course
SK National Instructor Leonard Chelack also attended the Canada Soccer National Instructor Course - April 23-24, Toronto, ON. Lifelong learning is the key for all SK Soccer participants. Len has a track record of working effectively with many SK referees, from Grassroots and Entry Level Clinics, to Community Referee Sessions, the Candidates Program and culminating with the Saskatchewan Elite Referee Program sessions. We thank Len for his amazing commitment to the SK Soccer referees and programs and look forward to continue working, implementing and delivering the latest information and instructions received at the National Course (Len is pictured first on the right, bottom row).
A message to share: Referees are essential to the participant’s experience and advancement of the game. They deserve our respect and a supportive, abuse-free, environment. You can make a difference; always treat them well and thank them for their contributions every game!
News from Canada Soccer
Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team Program has added Mike Vitulano as the Men’s Regional Excel Director. Mr. Vitulano will be responsible for leading the pathway of talented players from the Regional Excel (REX) to Canada Soccer’s National Excel Program. He will work closely with Canada Soccer’s provincial and territorial member associations as well as other player developers across the country. Click here to read the full article.
